HVRM Payloader Garage 7-23-2014

I went down to North Judson this morning about 9:30am. Started in on taking
boards off the building. Took off some batten that will need replacing later
on. Cut a couple of long boards, one 4foot and one 3foot sections due to being
dry rotted an the rest of the board was fine near the top. Replaced those sections
with new wood. Lunch time, so got a Subway, an on way back down to Norwayne
and got 3 new boards. 2-1x12/10foot, 1-1x12x12foot, painted all 3 boards. Tried to
put up the 12 foot board, got it tacked up, but need some help later to get it right.

Worked till about 3pm, feet got tired. Wonderful day, nice breeze out of the north.
Had a couple of guys just looking around, might be back Friday to ride train.
Richard Warner over in shop welding some item. Couple parked their car
in front of depot, unloaded their bikes an did the trail.

Cleaned up the rotted wood, threw it in dumpster an headed home. Saw
a headlight down the CF&I down by Hanna, so headed that way, was 2 CSX
units with a ballast train dumping it along the right of way, with another diesel
on the west end. Lot of the cars were empty, but the cars towards the west
were still full.

Going back down tomorrow early to work on a couple of boards rotted at the
very bottom, hope to get those changed out and then start on getting the new
batten on. Have to leave by 1:30pm to get to La Porte by 3pm.

Friday is the train at 10am, then into scraping the west wall. The payloader needs
to be taken out to get at the north wall where it is smashed to fix things up, probably
on Saturday.

Weather is too good to pass up working, not the killer heat.
